Located to the east of Lisdoonvarna, the 8.4 ha site was acquired and planted in 2016. The forest area is surrounded by natural pastureland, and is surrounded by perimeter fencing.

The project owners goal is to transform this landscape into a thriving ecosystem providing a haven for biodiversity through holistic restoration over the next decade.

The current forest, which is primarily made up of 80% sitka spruce and has uniform tree heights, as it continues to mature into a climate-resilient forest.
